Independent Living Support Outreach Worker
The Disabled People of Clare (DPOC) is a Centre for Independent Living managed by people with disabilities. The service supports people with disabilities to lead self-determined lives and to participate as equals in society.
We are now seeking to recruit an Outreach Worker to develop and deliver an Outreach Support Service for people with disabilities in Clare.
This is a one year fixed term contract with the possibility of continuing subject to funding.
Salary Scale: €27,828- € 42,512 Pro rata (10 Points) P/T 15 hour per week.
The Outreach worker will report to the Coordinator of Disabled People of Clare Ltd.
The person appointed will have:
o Recognised accreditation in counselling (IACP) or equivalent and /Or recognised accreditation in Life Coaching (AC or ICF or equivalent)
o Experience of working with individuals and groups within communities
o Knowledge of the Independent Living Movement and the Principles of Independent Living with a commitment to work from the IL perspective.
o An understanding of the issues and challenges involved in the social inclusion process
o An understanding of issues relating to disability
o High standard of IT, organisational, record keeping, communication and team skills
o Full clean driving license and access to own transport
