DPOC has developed a three-year Strategic Plan. After a process of evaluation and consideration DPOC have prioritised three key strategic directions:
This process provided us with an opportunity to reflect on our role within the disability movement, sector and in wider society. We summarised that DPOC plays a critical role in Clare and wider in ensuring the direct involvement of disabled people in places where decisions are made about our lives directly or indirectly. As the ONLY direct voice of disabled people in the county we commit to continue to work with and challenge where necessary, all stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally on behalf of all disabled people in Clare, regardless of impairment or age, in the achievement of our full civil rights.
Aim of Strategic Plan:
To continue and expand an accessible support service provided by disabled people for disabled people.
Objective:
The key objective of the DPOC is the development of a comprehensive support service designed for and by disabled people to enhance the quality of life and citizenship of disabled people.
We are also deeply committed to disabled people in building supports and relationships across the county to create assurances that disabled people will be represented and supported.
Our Strategic Plan document is currently being revised for 2010, and will be available for download here later this year.
